The Sackett Building is an iconic building to the University as it can be seen from both downtown and across Old Main Lawn. With over a 100-year history serving the college’s faculty, staff and students for nearly a hundred years. The project is renewing the historic building as a place where the university will continue advancing the leading edge of engineering education.
A renovation of the 1929, Klauder designed Sackett Building, with demolition of the existing 1958 North and South wings and replacement with new additions that are smaller in plan but can accommodate modern program requirements, a new elevator, and a new mechanical equipment. Each addition will contain approximately 16,000 GSF. The Sackett Building program in the original section will contain offices, administrative spaces, and classrooms.
