Agricultural + Biological Engineering Building | Pennsylvania State University

The renovation and expansion of the 1939 Charles Klauder building represents the school’s vision to create a comprehensive and integrated complex for the Agricultural and Biological Engineering departments.

Keast & Hood provided full structural engineering services for Penn State’s first Integrated Project Delivery (IPD) commission. The project involved renovations to the existing 15,000-sf building and addition of approximately
80,000-sf. The three-story building accommodates classrooms, offices, and a variety of specialty lab spaces housing everything from a bio-fermentation facility to a tractor simulation laboratory. The project was completed under a true, Integrated Project Delivery model using a multi-party agreement.
